5 Minute Wellness Tips

Do you often feel stretched to the brink, like you don’t have time for yourself, or that your health and wellness is not really a priority? I’m here to help.

You don’t need to spend hours a day focusing on your wellness, and I’ve created a list of tips for anyone who wants to look and feel good, in the shortest possible amount of time. Being busy no longer needs to be an excuse for neglecting yourself!

Learn how to breathe

If you think you know how to breathe, think again. There are many different breathing techniques that help you relax and focus, and if you learn one or more of these, you can take a real break, breathe and then get on with your day feeling revitalised and refreshed.

Any time you feel stressed- just breathe!

Start off with exercise

Everyone needs exercise, and if you can spend 10 minutes in the morning stretching and doing a few sit ups and even a bit of skipping, you’ll feel infinitely better.

We spend a lot of time sitting, and just a little bit of stretching helps a lot. Which leads me to my next point…

Walk around a bit

It has been said that siting is the new smoking, and with so many of us in deskbound jobs or spending ages enjoying the bingo hall has to offer, this is very true.

For every hour you spend sitting you should spent 5 minutes walking around or getting your blood flowing. Even if this means standing and squatting at your desk, get up and get moving!

Pop those supplements

Supplements and vitamins should not replace real nutrition, but they can give you a boost, especially if you are lacking in a certain mineral.

We’re not saying that you should pop handfuls of supplements daily but if you are feeling run down opt for some vitamin C and Zinc, and if you have other issues chat to a medical professional about what you can take to give you a little extra pep in your step.

Ditch the junk food

Healthy eating choices are essential to feeling good, and it only takes 5 minutes out of your day to swap those fries or milkshake for something that is better for you.

If you make conscious decisions to focus on your wellness you’ll soon discover that opting for healthy food becomes easier, an that even if you have to grab a quick snack on the run, you are able to pick out the food that’s far healthier.

Drink water

Dehydration is something you may not even notice, and you may find you think you are hungry, when actually, you re only thirsty! Carry a bottle of water with you wherever you go, and make drinking from it a regular thing.

If you need to, set yourself a drinking schedule to start off with, and ensure that you drink a set amount of water over a period of time. Over time, it will become a healthy hydration habit.
